Core Requirements

In addition to fulfilling the technical requirements of the Computer Science or Information Science major, students must also fulfill the remaining core requirements of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. An academic audit can show which requirements have been completed.

The following courses are required:

ACS 1000 Augustine and Culture: Traditions in Conversation
ACS 1001 Augustine and Culture: Moderinity and Its Discontents
ENG 1050 The Literary Experience
PHI 1050 Introduction to Philosophy
PHI 2180 Computer Ethics

One of the following two courses is required:

HIS 1040 Themes in Pre-Modern World History
HIS 1050 Themes in Modern World History

One of the following two courses is required:

THL 1050 Christianity in History
THL 1051 Christianity: Traditions and Transitions

Students must choose their courses to satisfy the following additional criteria. Consult Novasis at registration time for lists of courses that satisfy particular criteria.

Note: PHI 2180 (Computer Ethics) must be taken by Computer Science majors to fulfill the ethics core requirement. It does NOT simultaneously fulfill the advanced philosophy course requirement.
