Social Science Requirements
Computer Science majors are required to fulfill a social science requirement as part of the core curriculum of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Each student must take three social science courses: an introductory course and an advanced course (2000 and higher) in one discipline, and an introductory course in another discipline.
The social science disciplines are:
- Criminal Justice (CRJ)
- Economics (ECO)
- Geography (GEO)
- Political Science (PSC)
- Psychology (PSY)
- Sociology (SOC)
Geography courses are administered by the Political Science department.
Note: As the names imply, Introduction to Microeconomics (ECO 1001) and Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECO 1002) are both introductory courses. They do not satisfy the elementary/advanced social science course requirement.
